New High School Computer Security and Support Program at Whatcom Community College

Program Description: 
The Northwest Career & Technical Academy is pleased to partner with Whatcom Community College to offer a Computer Security and Support Program to area high school students beginning in the 2014-2015 school year. The Academy is a Washington State Skills Center and offers specialized tuition-free career training programs to all area public, private, and home-schooled students ages 16-20 who have yet to receive a high school diploma. Students earn three high school credits in this year-long program and may also earn 13 WCC credits. Computer Security & Support prepares students for the fields of technical support, networking, and information security. Working closely with Whatcom Community College’s renowned Cybersecurity Center, the students will be involved in a variety of Information Security activities. Students will also be prepared to take the Comp TIA A+ certification exam.
